OK,

I have a 5year old 180g reef, going thru yet another valonia bloom. lets see how the rest of the reefers beat the beast!

everyone chime in!

manual removal but I have only had a single bubble
LOL...........if there is one, there are others.........sorry.........

I've had success in the past with emerald crabs but the last batch I had didn't touch the valonia. I gave up and only manually remove them when they become a big clump.

Actually it was a hitchiker on a small piece of rock in my first one gallon nano and I knocked it off when I upgraded to a real tank. So I got lucky and removed it without even knowing what it was. At the time I was actually upset because I thought it was a cool thing. I now know what a bullet I dodged.

here is a tidbit of info. when they are small, you can just pop them. the algae is in such an infant stage that they will not reproduce. it is the big bubbles you need to worry about.....

any others suggestions for everyone....
