I run 5 single ended 250 watt 14K Hamilton bulbs, with ice cap electronic ballasts. Photoperiod for 8 hours a day. I change bulbs about every 11 months.
Wow! My first post, but I have been a member since June. I better wake up.

I used to run them only 5 hours but had T5's running the rest of the day. Bulbs were changed every 11-12 months. Now I'm a T5 convert.

We run an 8 hour cycle on the holding system and a 10 hour cycle on the display system. The benefit of the shorter cycle? Less algae & electricity use!
