what is a good h.o.b. skimmer

i am looking for a h.o.b. skimmer for a 90 gallon tank what is a good one with out breaking the bank i also needs to be some what compact

I've heard some good things said about the Remora. Deltec also makes a very good one but it is pricey.

i have a seaclone 100, wouldn't recommend it, it works well but takes a special touch. i also have a remora, works great, easy to use, but it does skim on the wet side. oh and use the maxi jet with it, not the rio.

Sometimes it's easier to recommend what Not to buy. I would stay away from CPR, Visijet, Coralife, Seaclone, and Red Sea Prizm.

The top of my list would be the Deltec's followed by Bermuda's HOB.

Totally agree with Ken on the Red Sea. I had one and it was a PITA. I've also tried using the Coralife and it was hard to dial in.

+1 on the Remora. I like mine a lot. Granted it's not on a 90 gallon, but the Pro version should work nicely on it.

If you do go with a remora put at least a mag 3 on it

I like the Deltec. When I had my 20G, I was running a Deltec MCE300 and it pulled out dark green smelly skimmate. Although the MCE300 is rated for a 90 gallon at normal bioload, I would go with the MCE600. But they do cost a fortune.

I have the Remora pro and it works well. but it is pretty noisy, check the inland reef forum, some guy was selling a pretty much brand new Bermuda rogue wave skimmer for $199 obo.

The bermuda is $250 here I don't know anything about them they were just the first one to pop up when I searched for a price

Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 Multi, bermuda rogue wave, deltec mce600 (but find a used one as they are $$$) Aslo Aqua Medic just release the Turboflotor Blue 3000 which is supposed to be one of the highest air flow?
