found my nitrates!

even after a water change, my nitrates are stuck at 20...
skimmer is running great etc... did my normal cleaning ritual tonight and decided to clean the overflow as well... the CPR overflow has a sponge that sits on each of the plastic filter screens that push into the bulkheads. they had a stank! cleaned them and a TON of gunk came out of them... Decided to leave them off and let the skimmer take care of the crud. going to check nitrates tomorrow... expecting to see a bit of a drop!

Thats going to help for sure from producing more no3 but not going to bring them down sorry lol

Water change this weekend will...
those were the last pieces of foam... sump had a big foam block between the skimmer chamber and the return chamber...
see what happens

Yea water changes will and the probidio will lol
you'd think with 15 gal/wk changes it would be lower, but I bet my bio load is pretty good... that and food... the fish always look at me when I walk by the tank with sad puppy eyes until I feed them. My GBTA reaches for me too
