So i was watching a tv show today about the coral reefs, and they said that at night is when the corals actually do their growing. So i was wondering if that means the longer you leave your lights off the better? (obviously you have to have them on for a couple of hours) also i've been wondering if the LED moonlights are actually good for the tank, or if they are bad.I'm relativaly new at this hobby so i'll leave it up to the experts to decide.

thanks

well, as far as i know, lights is used by coral to produce food by the process of photosynthesis. i dont think the LED light have any effects on the growth of the coral since obviously we dont point our moon light directly on top of the coral. i think both light on and off is very important for the growth of the coral. but be sure to balance them to the appropriate amount.
