Skimmer making weird nois

So my asm g1 is making a weird noise from the pump and idk if its the impeller or the pump so can some one explain to me what the problem is or how to know what is the problem is... It makes a really weird rumble noise even when is in or out the water but I noticed it when it was in the water please let mW know asap my number is 9512396354 text or call me if u can help thank u

Used is used. Put it in pure distilled vinegar for a couple hours. Also take it apart completely and give it all a bath in the same stuff. It may have a shell or sand in it, or bicarbonate build up.

Good advice. Pull it apart and soak it.

First take out the cover and check impeller for any rock or broken tee on it. Second check in the hole to see any sand get stuck on there or calcium build up. Do good clean up.

Haha the water being sucked by the protein skimmer was making the water drop and the protein was catching air I didn't notice till I removed the shelf that it has to hold chemicals and notice it I was like wtf I'm stupid

sometimes on those pumps when the impeller dries out it swells up and doesn't work right. happened to me on an asm skimmer
