Gate Valve Mod HELP

I have a gate valve mod on my G2 skimmer just like the picture below.... But sometimes it's Really noisy making a sucking noise from the top of the PVC TEE.. also, once every 5mins water gets up to the TEE, but water does not overflow, and just goes back down and operates normally...

How would I reduce that noise? it's really annoying

Move the gate valve to the top just after the T. Add another piece of pipe to the top of the tee. The fluctuating water level shouldn't be happening. Could be your pump. Check it and clean it. Water flow should be constant.

Oops..........I had a brain fart. Your setup is correct.

The fluctuating water level is still weird though.

I would add the the elbow after the valve and then the T to the other side. I think this would help removing air thats getting trapped inside the down tube.
The way I'm thinking that as the water falls over the elbow it's cutting off letting any air escape and then the water backs up to the T till the air can escape.
