Hello everyone,

I am setting up a 55G reef tank. This is going to be my first reef tank.
Based on my research so far, I decided to go with a mixed live & dry rock setup.

Here is my plan

Tank: 12lbs (cured live rock) + 48lbs (dry rock)
Refugium: 3lbs(cured live rock) + 7lbs (dry rock)

I need your help in finding the best retailers to buy the rock.

Please recommend.

I found these guys - http://www.aquariumarts.com for liverock. But they are selling at 9.99/lb including shipping. Is it really worth it?
What about dry rock? Where should I buy it and how much should I spend /lb on dry rock?

Thanks

Plenty of stores will sell you some good rock here as well at a much better price. + unless its overnight shipping included there's prob going to be a lot of die off on the rocks making your cycle longer. BTW Welcome to SCR!

Since you are in monrovia, stop by SPS coral store, ask for Aaron the store owner, he will be able to hook you up. He is a real good guy and a fellow hobbyist.

Thanks guys.

No, I haven't thought about buying it from a fellow member. I'll post something in the market place then.
I'll check out the SPS Coral Store as well. Thanks for the recommendation.
