Hey yall,
I'm a new member of the website. I recently purchased a 28 Gallon Nano cube. (This is my first saltwater tank ever). I love the tank, but Im curious if anyone has ever removed the lid completely and just installed a bar LED light or another form of light instead of the bulky lid. Any suggestions? Or comments. Thanks!

First, welcome to scr.

Second, I had a 28 nanocube years back and I removed the lid as it's better for cooling the tank. With the lid and the metal halides, I had to constantly run a chiller as my place back then got extremely hot.

Welcome to SCR. Shouldn't be a problem to run w/o a lid. In fact like Tangwich said, will help keep the tank cooler and help promote gas exchange. The drawback though is topping off the tank with RODI more often due to evaporation and jump happy fish may do a dirt dive. easy problems to have though and fix! Post some pics! Lets see the tank
