Ok Ive been fragging palys and its a PITA to frag on a ceramic plug. Dang I hate those. The Boston frag disc is easier to work with but still hard to cut an exact piece off. So I was thinking of mixing silicone with sand to make frag discs. It should be rigid enough and still easy to cut with a razor blade.

SO MY QUESTION IS,
Are there any adverse effects if theres excess amount of silicone in the tank?

Just use the right stuff, if it's good enough to hold a tank together for 30years see no issue with making a frag plug out of it. Not sure if frags will attach very well to silicon though

i've always heard to just use liquid super glue, put a few drops in a pile of sand and it'll almost instantly solidify giving you a frag plug.
a way to cure frag plugs i have also heard is to put them in the back of your toilet, they well leach everything out in a couple weeks by constantly being rinsed.
