Dude, why are you running a 400 watter? It's way not cost effective for what you are getting out of it. Stick with a couple of 250's in good reflectors.

Yeah, I figured you were going with one 400. What I am saying is to go with 2 250's instead. You'll have better light coverage. With the 400, you'll bleach everything directly below and won't have enough light to the sides :D

well my tank is a cube only 2x2x2 so i dunno how im gonna fit 2x250 reflectors up there

Hmmmm..........for some reason, I thought you had a 3 foot tank.

Seriously though, I think just a nice 250 reflector will work over your tank. Got some nice high and low light areas for all types of corals.

i told you Rega that was overkill hehe. i would of used that 400w on something like a 30x30x30 cube nice and high and strong enought to penetrate thru 30 inches of water.

overkill? I have 1,000w(DE MH) on my 72" :)

but of course it's 4x 250w, unless you hang it really high, one strong *** light is a PITA.
