Bio ball in over flow or sump

I purchased a 110 gallon tank and was previously used as fresh water . Now my question is should the bio balls go in the over flow or stay in the wet dry filter also would the filter be useable for a salt water tank see attached photos ,

Yea it seems that a lot of the hobby has gone away from bioballs.

grab a trash bag n fill as much as u can with bio balls than open trash can n put them in save ur self lot of headaches!!!

Lol completely agree. Toss the bio balls, there are more effective ways to filter your water.

for a reef system yeah not good but for a fish only great they have there place in the industry!
