Hello Everyone, I have a question for those experience with an RODI system.
I run a 18 Gallon Nano Tank with no chiller, I also live in Southern California which most of you do as well, so ur are pretty familiar with the crazy weather we are going through. So my question is can I put RODI water in the fridge or freezer to keep it cold and added to the tank when the temperature in weather rises, without any change in the parameters? I know that if you add the water too quickly and change the temperature back down too quickly it will shock the coral. But the other question is will cold RODI water have different parameters. and will this work?

If you add enough cold rodi water to where it makes a temperature difference it will very likely lower your salinity level (more water, same amount of salt).

So, you can either freeze water in bottles and put them in the tank (no water added, just heat exchange) or use a fan blowing over the tank water. This will increase evaporation so you'll have to top off with rodi water to maintain your salinity.
