Hello All,

Came up with the below rough design for my stand and canopy for a 150 gallon tank, (top view & side view). The stand is 40" tall and the canopy is 20" tall connected to the stand with side pieces (only front viewing of tank). Within the stand I'll have a 36x15x16 sump with a 15 gallon water tank for topping off. Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

What kind of supports are you doing on the top and bottom. From the diagram it looks like you just have the outside frame going. Also what are the dimensions of the stand?

I was going to run cross braces on both top and bottom with plywood

Good to know I don't need the center brace, I am planning on 2x6 for the top

If you don't do center posts I would do more that just plywood for your cross bracing. I would do at least 1 2x4 on the centers. 2 would be better, evenly spaced, but if you want to go minimal 1 could work.

Yeah. You want horizontal braces access the top regardless.

Saw this and thought I'd share. Your idea looks to be a bit more....thought out!
