For you sps guys...metal halide/t5 question

ON MY 50 GAL SPS TANK i have 1, 250w 14k halide supplemented with 4 39w T5 currently at 15 inches above water line. i feel that the sps in the middle of my tank need more light, how close to the water line do you have your Metal halides, or t5s?

When i used MH I would have them 10'' from the water. Reflector and width of the tank would also dictate the height though.

I think my canopy is 12" high. I would imagine the pendants are close to 10" above the water line. I would think as long as things are not to far spread out, you should be okay. Four T5's should provide a good amount of light as well. Is the bulb mounted perpendicular to the tank? That also helps spread.

My light sits on top of the canopy, about 10-14 inches above water
