I know I can run air stones for power outages, but I'd like to have a small generator just in case for other reasons as well. Camping etc. So which would you choose? Or any other places carry them in stock?

I found this one at Home Depot-

Or this one at Harbor Freight- (900 peak / 700 amps)-

Also anyone know about how long these would run off one tank of gas?

Thanks!

Well apparantly the All Power 1000 watt 2 stroke from HD can't be sold in CA. Stupid liberals.

Any other ideas?

Go to Vegas for a couple day and have them ship it to the hotel you are staying at. That's what I did

Have a kill a watt to see how many watts your fridge uses? a 900 or a 1000 might now be enough.

I've actually heard good things about the HF units. One of my subcontractors uses them instead of Hondas, he said the HF last him about two years before they crap out and the Hondas go about five years but cost almost 10x more.

Propane is better, less issues with the gas (with ethanol) not fouling it up. Especially if you don't use it very often. Plus, in a power outage, you can likely still get propane, but not gasoline.
