Looking to set up a small 20x20" frag tank. Is it the same of I plumb into my existing system? (100gal w/ 30gal sump, skimmer, uv and chiller) I'm going to have some more of the high end frags in there..

I'm wondering if plumbing to my existing tank is fine or should I spend the extra money to set up a whole new similar system? I rather spend the extra $$$ on corals than a system, but I also want to do it right.

All advice please

I would do a system completely separate that's why I'm in the middle a frag system if your main tank crashes so what all your your frags

It's nice to have a separate system, I use my frag tank like a qt just to be safe so that goofy things don't sneak into my DT.

I was thinking the same, but only room I have is in my garage... So chiller and everything can get pricey.. So just want to make sure before I drop so much $$$.. Haha

Separate, if my display would ever crash I can fit everything in my frag tank.

I would run it together. Depends on if you want it separate for qt or just another place to add your frags. Second tank takes a lot of work for it to be a steady sps tank for high end sps

+1 sometimes I really dislike having my 120 frag tank so much work!

I have a 24x24 in my garage and don't have a chiller. I like the separation from my display. Like others have said if something happens to display I still have my frag. Here is a pic before water.
