Your water container where you mix your saltwater and ato reservoir for that matter. Dont forget to clean these on the regular. A little vinegar, water, elbow grease with a rag and....

Good look out. That looks like years of neglect. I do wash and wipe down every other month.

Crazy part is that it had only been 2 mnths since i last cleaned the brute container. Now cleaning the pump used to mix the saltwater. It's just as filthy.

Good point...the way i see it is this way, what's the point of doing a water change if the "clean" saltwater is dirtier than what you're taking out of the tank....hopefully this thread helps member add this to the list of potential candidates to why they are having algae issues or nutrient control issues ; )

not everyone poops in their cans. some of us don't have midget bathrooms.. :p

kidding aside, do you have a lid over the brute? mine's outside with a lid tightly snapped on it, and it's been out there for a few months, and I don't have any of that going on.

yes sir i sure do but as a wise man once told me, truly clean rodi water is a magnet for dirt, dust and debris so sometimes a lid alone wont keep crap from getting in to your container.

Bump!

That's after two days of vinegar bath and now just rinsing with hot water after scrubbing for about 30 min...

That's nasty lol. I try to do it every time but when the calcium build up forms it gets annoying to clean

Yup I lagged it since I only use about 40 gallons 10 gallons is always there
