I also bought used hydras for my 110 gallon but I have a canopy the lights came with 2.5 inch screws so I screwed them on to my canopy and killed all my whites I was going to have a heart attack I just called ai that my lights burned out I got lucky they sent me all new lights to rebuild them for free I got lucky so be careful with that screw if you go that route
Thanks for all the help members. Finally got settled in on the height and settings. So I placed it 8 inch off water and running it at 50% intensity in coral acclimation mode. Used the cable ceiling mounting method. Here are some pics of the tank. And Yes, I will be adding an additional unit once I am able to save enough money. These are trial settings that i am experimenting with and will be doing some fine tuning in the coming weeks/month. Once I finalize all settings, I will share it along with the results from my coral.
It was different from the orbit marine that i had. Wish they have a pre programed day/night cycle. Now that i've been playing a little more with the setting, its starting to look better (IMO). Its probably more to do with my phone cam then the actual light. Been trying to read up and get advice, but not much on it from this forum. Im thinking of setting up a Hydra settings topic and hope people would contribute by sharing their settings and ramp rates with us. I've been working on some programs and will gladly share that as well.
