I have a few sticks that haven't died yet....also a browned out acro I got about a month or so ago that has since colored up to purple with green polyps.

I run carbon/gfo 24/7.

Light cycle: radions at 55% for 11 hrs a day, with 4x54 t5s for 2.5 hrs midday.

Longer t5 period. I'd say 6 hrs. I run mine 8 and leds 10 hrs.

I have red sea nopox. However I'm trying to hold off on it for now. Are other params acceptable?

Only number I see high is phosphates... want .08-.1 highest. .3 is rather high. It will hinder sps growth as it makes it harder for them to take in calcium from what I have read.

Another way to raise Ca is by large water change as well. Like King Casas says, don't shoot for a specific number, aim for a range. Last thing you want to do is chase numbers. I personally, like to keep my Ca between 400 - 450 and my Alk between 7.5 - 8.5

I do weekly 30g wcs with IO salt. I see your point about chasing numbers. I'm trying to get to 400-460 as I also have 3 clams in the tank
That's a good point. A week ago it was 0.5 so i added more gfo. If it doesn't budge I'll start red sea nopox or vinegar dosing.

Just an update.

Nitrates 0.75 via red sea colormetric

Phosphates 0.4 via Hanna.

Calcium is now 440 via red sea. Looks like I'm using 20 of calcium per day.

Alk is 7.3 as of last night. Saturday it was 7.7, so I'm using 0.4 alk a day. I'll slowly raise alk to 8.0, and setup doser to deliver 0.4 alk a day. That's about 120ml of b-ionoc alkalinity based off this calculator.

Also started dosing 6ml of red sea nopox daily. I'll retest my nitrates and phos in a few days to see what's going on and how it's responding. Also changed out di resin and took off gfo for the time being.

Another thing with all parameters, is be consistent. Don't make too many changes at 1 time. Try to correct 1 parameter at a time. You may fix 1 but it may adversely affect another so I try to correct 1 at a time.

Yeah that is a good idea. I already correct calcium and alk, as I was reading that 7 isn't terrible. Knowing my alk usage I can set my doser to maintain that.

The nopox dosages address nitrate levels, with phos going down as nitrates drop.
