So i started adding this ammonia to start a fishless cycle...i thought it was safe since it says non detergent...however, i shook the bottle and i get a thin layer of bubbles that disappear after about 10 seconds. Im second guessing myself now that its safe to use in my new tank? I have also noticed that it seems diluted as i have to add 40mls to get 1ppm of ammonia in 75 gallons of water. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Um im no expert but i dont think thats the right ammonia you want to add to your tank, but i may be wrong. You could of just added a raw piece of shrimp and let it decompose..

So good news, called the manufacturer and they were kind enough to research it and and call me back. There are no surfactants and its just ammonia and water...he said that ammonia does bubble a little but doesnt stay around very long unless you have a sudsy kind with surfactants. :) after all this drama, i may try a shrimp just to be safe :)
