Do you guys have a procedure for cleaning dead rock before you reuse it in a system. I had some mined dry rock I left outside like a d-bag in a bucket. Its been in rain and sitting in old tank water all winter. Had some serious algae in there. I took them out and put them in the sun a few weeks back. I'm looking to add 2 pieces to my system. What is the safest way to go about this? Soak them in old tank water in the garage until they finish leeching whatever they have?

What I did with mine was put them in a bucket with a heater and power head and cranked the heat up as much as it could go. I covered the top with foil to help keep the evaporation to a minimum, but basically just like curing dry rock.
