Hello SCR. I've been cycling rock in my back yard for a week for my new build. Went to check on it this morning and I noticed my Walmart thermometer was crack at the bottom. I'm not sure if I should start the cycling process over, or if the rock will be ok. Any suggestions? I believe there are little metal balls towards the bottom of the thermometer that are now somewhere in the bucket.

I believe those little balls are iron/steel. I busted the same style thermometer in a FW tank and it left little rust marks on the bottom of the tank where the thermometer broke.

I did the same thing, but in my sump. I cleaned every last little ball out of the sump chamber and it was perfectly fine, beware of the rust though.

Ok, thanks guys. Just made the decision to start the cycling over and pressure wash the rock out just to be safe.
