Hey guys, I've made a tank devoted to photosynthetic gorgonians and various macro algae. Its going to be located out on the patio next to my tank room with partial shade. It's not fully completed but my question is what should my sump look like?

Can I just do a simple two chamber with live rock and chateo then return?

Can I just do a wet dry and turn on lights at night?

Things I'm adding to the tank.

More gorgs:
ORA Grubes.
Sea whips
Plumes
Encrusted / corky finger
Candelabra (more colors)

macros: (I'm adding a terra cotta planter box with sand 4" deep)
Halimeda
Shaving Brush
Mermaids Fan plant - looking to purchase
Dragons tongue - looking
Dragons breath A- looking
Hynea - looking
Sea lettuce - looking

Thanks for helping and knowledge!

I like seahorses. I got nothing clever to say. Boo.

Nice list!! I have some Codium for you.. Or did I give u any yet? Anyway lol .. Honestly my first thought was that with all those macros a sump isn't needed :) I don't think the ph swing at night will hurt those you listed. But I could be wrong. The best macro tank I had wash little nano, AIO , with no sump or lighting at night. I wanna get a drag of those gorgs when they take off tho :) lookin good TJ!
( btw.. Love the new profile pic! :) )

You dont really NEED a sump. You already have macros in the tank. A hob skimmer or even freshwater style aquaclear works fine.
