So after much convincing and MUCH MUCH butt kissing I was finally able to purchase my APEX. But I've never set one up before. I can pick up pretty fast on some tech stuff so I was wondering if someone could school me on setting one up for the first time. What's the basic units that are plugged into it and how can I just get it up and running and monitoring. I plan to do a TON of reading once I get off work but I'd like to have a first person experience with the product also help me out. Thanks in advance

Well I got mine used and it was basically plug and play. Maybe there's a few steps I'm unaware of for first time hook up.

Check out www.neptunesystems.com/getstarted

I struggled a lot with port forwarding and the camera sync but got things figured out eventually. Let me know if I can help.

Yeah once you have it installed and connected to the Internet it's really just a matter of familiarizing yourself with Neptune's interface apex fusion.

One thing to note are the different types of outlets in the eb8 power strip that come with the full apex. Some are triac (1-3 & 5-7) while others are mechanical relays (4 & 8). Mechanical relays are rated to 10 amps while the triac outlets are rated at 5. So heavy loads should go on 4 & 8 like halides with t5s or chillers/very large heaters. This article explains the pros and cons of each type and how they function.

BRS has a whole series on setting up your apex that I found very helpful.
