I've been experimenting with nitrate a bit to try to achieve better sps coloration, @ 1 or 2 ppm or below mine get very pale, at above 8 I get cyano blooms:ciao:!!!! So I leave tend to leave at 4ppm (tested using Red Sea pro). Were do you guys run your nitrate at ???

5 to 10, never below 5 and do not do anything extra until over 20. I have too much flow for Cyano and I keep my p04 above .05 to .08 and don't worry until it hits .15. When I did have Cyano it was when my p04 was near 0. I do have to clean glass every few days and my fish and clean up crew keep the rocks pretty clean.

Yeah I use API as well and my readings are the same as yours. It's strange to me with that high of nitrate concentration in my tank, I don't have any algae issues. I guess it's true what they say "if it ain't broke don't fix it "

I test nitrates with salifert, fast and easy. If they go under 5, I will test with Red Sea pro nitrate test to verify. I test phosphates less frequently around every one to two weeks.

I rarely test, just try to do 10g weekly water changes on my 66g. Last time I tested was over a month ago, I was at 5ppm, if corals look happy I keep doing my usual

I keep my nitrates around 10ppm (API test kit). When it reads 20 I usually do a 10% water change and that usually gets me back down to 10. My phosphates I keep between 0.00 and 0.03 (Hanna). Once they start going above 0.03 I know its time to change my media. I haven't had any cyano issues and I feed a lot with frequent AA and trace element dosing. If your having problems with cyano I would take a look at your phosphates first. Lower them down slowly, feed less, and wait until it dies out. Then slowly ramp up your feeding until you find a happy medium.

Mine is 50+. Have been battling nitrates for months. Just installed biopellets 2 weeks ago let's see if that helps. Other than that sps have been fine. Only lost a forest fire digi in the past couple months

I have 1-2ppm nitrate but phosphate is anywhere around .04-.08ppm. I'd like my phosphate lower. Corals are slowly regaining color and growing since Browning out from moving homes and .2 PO4 in November. Testing red sea kits
