Return pump ? Help

So I just got a fluval sp2 return pump. Is anyone else running this pump don't know if I should go in sump or outside of sump any info will help thanks

You can install either way. I have seen it both ways

Ok I'm gonna return it so is anyone running it external I would like to see pics or is it really simple hard plum it to sump and plum it to the return to tank?

To clarify my question to run external do I have to bulk headed to my sump or can I just 90 over the side of the sump then plum the return

You don't want the return pump pulling over the top of the sump. Install a bulkhead
