Still building up a nano slow being it is a bit of an expensive hobby but rewarding for those who enjoy it and look at it as a passion. I'm not sure what's best to do or how should I got on the type of rock to choose or if I need it to cycle my nano tank it's about fifteen gallons or less

I'd say if you have the time and patience dry rock is best. Getting live rock with a pest or two (apstasia, Mojanos, weirdo worms) that will cause problems down the road is a gamble. LR (live rock) is only as good as the person you get it from. LFS(fish stores) I'd say the majority will cause you more headaches than it's worth for the quick cycle.

If starting dry rock make sure your check for buffering while cycling. Dry rock tend to buffer on alk, cal and mag. It's due to building block of bacteria.

Dry rock is better, no pest. Make sure to clean rock before use.
