Green Bird Wrasse - Growth on "Beak"...

So I came across this fish from another reefer. The entire tank, including livestock, is being donated to our church. Anyone come across this before?

Yep, its fairly common, i think its excess calcium growth. That being said that guy looks very stressed. Face is a lot lighter than iv seen. Also that extra growth seems a lot ore than iv seen in the past.

Thanks for the info, Adam. Yes...stressed...probably due to the fact that I was trying to catch him to transfer to temporary holding tank.

Anything that can be done? I'll try to do more research.

They love to wrap on rocks, Iv seen them in the wild with it, so its rather natural. I would just make sure he has lots of room to swim and rock to hit on.
