I have always used gfo, not sure if it's cheaper. I like it because it is simple enough to use and I have no problem turning it off when I don't need it.

Nopox is a carbon source. You will still need a bacteria factory. I'm running a zeo reactor to grow bacteria and I feed nopox when needed. It keeps my nitrates at 0 and Po4 between .02 and .11

How do you keep a bacteria factory. I'm planning on taking rock out to do a nice aquascape.

bio pellets are a bacteria factory. you can also use the Marinepure ceramic media. I run both a zeovit reactor and marinepure

I called Redsea, they suggested/recommended I remove my GFO/BIO Pellets offline.....since doing this my parameters have been more stable and improved...

what is everyone trying to achieve? GFO is only for phosphates. bio pellets and no pox are carbon dosing. Zeovite is a low nutrient system. the zeovite chambers actually collect food and you feed it into the system when you shake it once or twice a day.
