Just received an email from air water and ice, the rodi manufacturer that I use, asking if I am filtering for Chloramines. I checked my water district 2015 report and it states there are 2.03(average) mg/ml in my water. It is reported as disinfectant residuals (chloramines). I do not know if that amount is significant, or detrimental, and whether I should be ordering a catalytic carbon upgrade filter for my system as they suggest. Opinions?

Or you could just dose your water with Seachem Prime and save a lot of money. Prime is cheap and very concentrated. Then you know with 100% certainty that chloramines are neutralized. With that $15 cartridge, needs to be replaced often, and how will know when it's no longer effective?

I run two Cloramine blocks during the summer when the city dumps the chloromine in the water. Yes its bad, it introduces ammonia into the tank.
