Topic: Algae Macro algae and nuisance algae.
Our presentation in November will focus on Algae in your tank. We will be discussing how to remove nuisance algae in your tank such as Hair Algae, Bryopsis, bubble Algae etc As nutrients and nutrient export is a large part of Algae growth, we will also be discussing Cyano bacteria, dinoflagellates,(dino bloom) and how to deal with it.
We will be discussing many types of Macro algae that you can add into your tank or sump as ornamental displays or as a source of phosphate removal. We will be teaching care practices for many of those including Mangroves, Chaeto, Calerpa, red gracilaria, palm tree etc
Our raffle prizes will again focus on our discussion so we will be raffling off many types of Macro Algae including a large pack of assorted macros. Other raffle prizes will include a frag cutting kit, additives, Rods frozen foods and more! Dont forget LARS members get a FREE raffle ticket to participate in an exclusive FREE members raffle that makes being a member totally worth it.
Club meetings are a great place to meet fellow reefers who share the same interests and might have the same issues with your tank. Everyone is welcome, bring whomever you would like to accompany you. No pressure to become a member or participate in the discussion. We can also discuss any other issues or topics.
We meet at an Ihop, just come on in and look for the projector screen and frag tank. If you get there early just let the staff know you are there for the meeting and they will direct you.
We will have our club Frag Tank set up for ANYONE to sell/trade coral. Members also get to borrow the clubs new Par Meter! Sign up at the meeting.
