Rusted Vortech MP10 impeller?

I was cleaning my pumps and noticed this on my MP10 impeller, thinking it might explain some recent mystery tank issues. Do these rust or is this something else?

Happened to mine as well. Eco tech sent out a new one, great customer support. It was even past the one year warranty.

it could be ceramic coated. At least that's how it appears. Rust bleeding from the hairline cracks in the pic would indicate so.

Did they end up sending a replacement? All 3 of my wet sides are showing a little of this around the tip now.

One of my MP40 wet sides rusted out. I contact Ecotech and got a new one at my door a week later.
