Hi Ben,

Congratulations with your purchase!
How do you plan to fill this tank up?

Zhenya
Well, I got the tank back... Stand is built.... But..... Here's where I have a connundrum. I have 99% made up my mind to basically reboot 100℅. The old tank (60 gal) has Aptasia, and I can't seem to get ahead of it.. and... I heard rumors of a new Sump/Skimmer combo coming out in a month or two...So.... Thinking about curing up some freshie rock to alleviate the d@mn Aptasia and.... Give myself some time to see if the new sump comes out in time...
Last thing I really want to do is jump in both feet on a whim and regret it later... Did that with the 60... Hate that tank now, and have since the Aptasia started popping up... Oh..... Word of advice on the subject of Aptasia....... Peppermint Shrimp are the devil...

I have a bunch of rock that has been sitting outside if you want to go through the process of cycling it. LMK.

Well, been a while since I updated this thread, so here goes..

I got a bunch of dry rock (thanks joseserrano ) and started the process of getting it all cleaned up IMG_20170402_165534638.jpg

Decided I was going to go all mideval on the rock since the current little tank has had, and seems always have, Aptasia. Didn't want that to happen again so.. IMG_20170402_093421430.jpg
Got a 55 gallon for super cheap and prepared to have some chemistry fun IMG_20170402_093433395_HDR.jpg
Was kind of a fun experiment.. Here is just as I added the acid to the barrel IMG_20170402_152326995.jpg

And after about 5 minutes IMG_20170402_152830384_HDR.jpg
Let it cook for about 20 minutes and then gave it a pretty thorough rinse. Lots of nastiness came off, and I have to say, rock looks great.

Here is the rock after the rinse and before going back into the barrel IMG_20170402_165534638.jpg

Time for a RODI soak for about a week. IMG_20170402_103503301_HDR-1.jpg

While the rock was soaking in RODI, I tested the Phosphate to see where I stood. About 3 days in I was at .25 +/- so decided on a water change and continued the soak. As of this morning, I was at a manageable .03, so another water change. This time using fresh salt water IMG_20170415_120950418.jpg
Added an ammonia source IMG_20170415_122233168.jpg
And a powerheads I had lying around and set to cook..
Doing all this outside of the tank in hopes I can pull down the 60 and swap for the 120 without any major hassles
The poor 120 is looking kinda lonely sitting in the corner of the garage IMG_20170415_122600836.jpg

Oh... Almost forgot. Been stocking up on some new toys to help with the 120 when I finally get it wet IMG_20170415_123403513.jpg

They are G3 Pro's. Got a better price than I would ha e with the G4, and I already 5 matching on the 240. They will all run the same program via Reeflink. Simpler for my simple brain that way...

Hopefully in about a month +/- the 120 will be up and inhabited..

No, I didn't neutralize the acid. The rock itself does given time. Just gave it a real good rinse and scrub. Muriatic acid is actually pretty mellow stuff all thing concerned.
Had a cooked shrimp from Costco layiying around my freezer. Cooked, raw, doesn't really matter since it the shrimp breaking down causing Ammonia that gets the ball rolling.
Any Ammonia source would work including household cleaning Ammonia. I was being lazy, and plan to remove the shrimp at some point anyway.
