So after messing with a few different bulb combos I've found that the 6 blue+ and 2 purple+ can't be beat for growth and color. I'm currently running the 6 b+ for 8 hours on one channel and the 2 purple for 4 hours in the middle of the light cycle for a boost. When all are on the look is natural and pops but I can't stand the all blue look. It's flat and washed out. Anyone run a similar set with all 8 bulbs for the majority of the day cycle? Not sure if that much purple plus would lead to algae issues.

I have a ati 8 lamp with kz super blue x6, kz fiji x2. 2 lamp (super blue) come on/off at 4:30/11:45. Remaining 6 lamp on/off 4:45/11:30. I really like the color. Pictures below for reference. Pics are taken with s7e.

Tanks Looking good James. What's that Millepora 1/2 way down on the right? Looks colorful.

Good to know I can run all 8 for close to the same duration. I used to run actinics on the 2 bulb channel before I got the reefbrite. Maybe I'll slowly ramp up the 2 channel then swap the bulb location up a bit.

ASD rainbow...

Thanks Matt, paying more attention to the tank since november. Its been running on autopilot since I set it up.

I domt have any algae or cyano in my system(knock on wood). I have been running this light schedule with these lamp combo since july. So I don't believe itll cause any algae issue. I do occasionally leave the curtains open for natural sun light.

Here is a pic of my lamp placement..
