Mp-40 killing fish

Hi anybody have this problem any idea Or solution
I have a 200 gal. And I use 2 mp-40 qd. But i think is to strong
And absorbing my fishes I'm running less then half power
Coperband
Powder blue
Maroon lighting
Convict tang.

I don't know what I have to do. Any ideas please

They make sponges that go on the internal part of the pump to prevent death by suckage. I have the same problem with bangaii cardinals and powerheads. I also had one sucked into the eductor. That was unpleasant.

How long did you have the fish?

I've had mp40s for years and never lost fish to the pump. Unless they are weak on their way out they do end up stuck in the pump but in my opinion a healthy fish should't get sucked in to the pump.

I've only loss one fish to a vortec. It's was when I had mp60s on my 300. When I was doing some maintenance on the vortecs and had them turned off. A black blenny swam into on of the wet side while it was off. I didn't see him in it and when I plugged it back in the prop chopped him up.
But my tangs loved to swim in the current when my mp60 ramped up to 100%. So I wouldn't see a 40 being to much flow.

I have a mp40we in a cadlight 42g Versa n never lost a fish running at 30% .355s short pulse
