Yes I think you can avoid waterchanges. If your 100g tank has great biological filtration - Where you aren't fighting algae outbreaks, and you aren't dosing, changing, 20 different products to maintain water quality then yes.
If you get your biological filtration dialed in - Lots of Rock, Good Skimmer, and lots of algae - And then use a product like Triton in which you are dosing an replenishing all the trace elements your corals are consuming, then there is no reason to do water changes other than to carry buckets of saltwater around rather than going to gym.
