Problems with deep sand bed?

What are the problems with a deep sand bed ? Icurrently have 1.5" inches in my nano its the finest argonite sand is that too much sand?

1.5" of sand is definitely fine, I run a 1" sand bed myself. There are supposedly issues of poisonous gas buildup in DSB over time due to debris buildup and overall just difficult to maintain. This is also why many like to go barebottom but I can't personally stand the bare look

DSB traditionally starts at 3", and 4"is considered standard,and plenty of people have more than that.

If you do it and do not have and stirrers, it has anaerobic potentialities. But if you have and stirrers in great supply as well as a turbulent reef, don't worry about it.

They're great for organisms like pistol shrimp, or mantis shrimp.

I have really fine sand and not a lot of flow cause it would blow the sand around. I have a 8 gal nuvo AIO with a 200 gphpump do you think I would run into problems?
