Default Lakers draft, free agency, trades, etc.

Let's play the lakers arm chair GM game. Who do you like for the lakers in the draft, free agency and trades?
Almost every mock draft board has Lonzo at #2....I have a serious concern about his midrange jumper. I like Josh Jackson though. Is Lonzo's court vision and passing ability enough to compensate for his jumper and lack of pick-n-roll experience?

I hope they make the right decision to complement the young core. Lots of hype around lonzo, he's got a funky jump shot (reminds me of Sean Marion) and questionable defense.

Lonzo is good enough to learn the pick and roll, however his dad is problematic. Imagine old man ball going on his commentary if/when Luke decided to sit lonzo down or not give him the last shot... josh Jackson is good but doesn't look like a good shooter. LA already has a team full of guys who can't shoot well.

There's more tape on Josh Jackson working the post and making jump shots than Lonzo. He can defend too. I followed Lonzo during his year at UCLA and he was very entertaining to watch. If the lakers front office decides Lonzo can learn to shoot then they probably take him. His court vision and "it" factor from entertainment standpoint make him hard to pass on.

I'm also a little hesitant about a possibility of letting D'Lo go. He's long and a good shooter for his age. Kids got potential.

I kind Of like De'Aaron Fox but he's a bit of a gamble. He's super fast, fearless and has a good work ethic. I hear his shooting sucks but I think it might not be that bad as he develops.

Of course if we can trade up and get Markelle Fultz that would be sweet.

Pretty sure you heard it by now but 76ers traded up to #1 and will be getting Fultz on draft night.
I'm very encouraged by the 6 game winning streak Lakers had towards the end of the season. So whatever we get in the draft will only help.

More importantly, who do you think the Kings are protecting for next week's expansion draft??

This draft is a close call and tough to say who's best. Fultz is a better fit in Philly than he is in Boston so it made sense for the 76ers to move up. He will be good next to Simmons.

I'd be happy with Josh Jackson or Lonzo Ball. I hope they don't go after Paul George until next year when he is a free agent so they don't have to give up anything.

I just watched the highlights of 2 games from last season. While the younger core showed promise we were still pretty awful. With DLo gone, I wouldn't mind giving up Randle or Clarkson+ 27 and 28 picks for PG. We have enough young players. With Brook Lopez contract expiring we can trade him before the deadline for a 2018 pick (which we do not have any of as of today).

It appears that the Suns have engaged Bulls about Butler, Pacers about George and Knicks about KP with their 4th pick. This may explain the reluctance of the Pacers to send George to LA. However, Suns would be wise to get either Butler or KP who have not publicly declared their intent to sign with one team only like George. My feeling is once these talks cool off or actually happen with Bulls or NY, Pacers will likely take Lakers offer.
