My Tank Build

I'm currently running my tank for about 10 hours a day. Looking to cut back to help with electricity usage and heat. How long do you guys run your lights for?

I have my light on for 13hours from 1pm to 2am.
But full intensity with all t5s on is only 6 hours. The rest are just blue for viewing.

Hi there
If it's fish only you only need to have them on when you want to view them but if you have coral IMO I would say between 10 to 12 with a photoperiod of 4 to 6 is average.

As for my own I run 11 hours a day I have a photo period of four hours and a ramp up and ran down time of 3 1/2 hours

Mine is down to around 10 hours. I liked having it at 12 because it worked better with my work schedule but I feel it was too much extra light and was causing some algae.

I am still playing with mine. The ramp on the jbj sl140 is sort of weird, and getting it to have hard stops with only 6 total cycles per preset timer has made my lights be at least 10% for almost 20 hours.

I am trying to dial it into 14 total with 6 hours at 75%

Only 4 hours with t5. Any longer than 4, corals grow too fast and get out of control

I run my Radion for 13 hours total. Only 7 hrs of that is peak though. I have 6 hours of just Dawn and dusk effects.
