Ok, she ready.

Top down. You can see there is a lot of space for sps.

Believe it or not, the whole scape weighted less than 30lbs.

40lbs from brs

It will be a separate system in my living room.
Question: should I buy another apex or should I buy long cable and pm1 module, eb8.... and use 1 apex for 2 system? Kind of far from my bedroom to my living room though.
So far On my old system, ALL I need from APEX is just control the temp.
Or should I buy the apex Jr? Any advises are welcome!

This build will be of course all SPS. Only some of my favorite pieces will be transferred into this tank.

Playing with the rock scape today. I always keep in mind that the rock scape need to be open enough for fishes to swim and also provide maximum space for frags. ( I have more than 40 acro colonies in my 45 gallons, let see how many acros I can stuff in this tank.).
I feel like the hanging reef, bonsai structure will be the one satisfied both requirements.

40lbs of Pukani rock. For sure it will not enough.

First time using this cement.

My thought? Dry supper fast, and super hard to use.
However when it dries, it hard...like the rock itself.

This is just the back bone. Some tonga will added to make it look more natural and maximize space for frags.
Don't worry, i will cover the cement and putty with rubble rocks.

.....to be continue
I love that stuff it really works !!
I use it on my tank :)

Tkae me quite some time to decide on other equipment.
Some new toys have arrived.

I want to make thing right from the beginning on this tank. My old 45 gallon uses up to 120mil ESV per day, so I decide to go with Calcium reactor on this build. Take advantage of Brs sale on this model.

Very well packaged and fancy looking.
There are many terrible reviews about the leaking issues but let's see. The material look quite robust & high quality.

Also spending time to manage the wires from beginning, I don't want it become a mess like my old 45 gallons.

Pretty happy with the result.

Good wire management = less fire risks

Any specific reasons you decided to go with sand for this build?
I like the look of it, I mostly I try to keep some wrasses.
But I hate how they shifting around.

Be carefull using hot glue, it will fail and you ll have to do it again.
Technically a fire hazard is 'piggy backing' multiple power strips together is not good. If you are, i would get higher quality power strips. Those will have better components and thicker wire.

I heard good reviews on those g4, they are said to be as good as t5 so hopefully I won't need the t5s.
On the other hand, this tank is in my living room, I will sacrifice some growth for the clean look.

The power strip on the right is high quality one with surge protector. The one on the top( which I use hot glue) was mount by screws, I use glue to prevent it from minor moving. It will only use to run 2 mp40. All the heavy consumption will be on the other power strip.

The sump area is almost finished.

The sump design make horrible noise without filter sock, so I came up with an idea: a never wash/never clogged filter sock method.

First day, first disaster:
The second chamber of the Vertex calcium reactor leaks. I take it out, carefully assemble everything again. Turn on the return again, every look good. No leak.
An hour later, I check again. The main chamber leak! The floor is flooded, I think around 1 gallon leak out.

That's it. Too much to take in. And you know how frustrating dissemble and assemble a calcium reactor can be. And the trusting issue too.
I called Brs and requested a return for refund.

Anyone have good calcium reactor for this tank size that can recommend me?

Dang. Sorry to hear man. I've been using the aquamaxx and it's pretty good. No complains. Didn't see a picture of your co2 regulator. Which one are you using?
