You've been warned by the title, and this description. This might be gross, for some.

Video says it all.

I tried moving a snail, the same way that I always do, and ripped the whole shell right off. The tactile sensation felt odd, and when I realized what I did, I almost got sick. It was terrible, and disgusting. It is still moving around the tank.

Don't move your snails if you don't have to. And if you have to, be absolutely careful. I always thought I was, but this time I was not.

Let's be honest the snail most likely was stressed and not healthy. I've never ripped a healthy turbo from its shell.

Oh well. It happens. I've had good luck giving them a twisting motion to remove. Or if they're on the glass slide a credit card under them.
