Well guys im debating getting a Vectram m1 right now im running a **** rio hf17 and the flow is to low but i think that can also be because of the **** 1/2 inch return line. i hate that this tank was plumed with such a little return line but what ever. So my question is will the m1 be fine on 1/2 PVC return line. how much will flow be affected ??

I can only suggest you call Ecotech Marine, they can tell you more about it's specific's ....but I will tell you on mine it seemed to struggle a bit at a 4' head high . I ended up changing the whole return line setup and it works amazingly well now, better that before.

I believe you'll be okay. Depending on how big your tank you prob won't run it at 100%

Hate when they are noisy it bugs the crap out of me lol. I swapped the one that came with a sicca n it's silent. Run 3 reactors n still have enough pressure. I have hard plumbing with 1/2"

when the nozzles on my 100g SCA got plugged with green hair algae my vectra started shutting down multiple times a day. I think it has some type of flow or pressure sensor for a fail safe to save the pump from burning up. I was running it closer to 75% percent though so I'm sure that had something to do with it. What size tank are you running now?
