Can coral have good growth with just blue lights? Or do they need that 10k spectrum to achieve good growth? I kind of want to keep it 20k +. Has anybody had good coral growth with just blue lights on?

From what I understand from fellow reefers is that the blue spectrum is what the corals really thrive on. The whites are there so we can see things in a more natural way from our perspective. Some people have said they would just run blues only if they could except for the viewing thing.

I'm < a year into the hobby but read that blue promotes zooxanthellae algae which is good, but too much of it can also cause excess / unwanted algae growth. The whites are great for viewing naturally, but i personally like the blue hue at night before the tank goes to sleep.
