I lost $3500 in my first year of reefing, I had sharks, sea horse, stingrays, harlequin shrimp, starfish and of course fish and coral. It wasnt until I found this forum that I started to learn how to keep a healthy reef tank. Thanks to all who answered my questions

I started with saltwater 18 years ago. Took 5 attempts before I was able to keep fish alive. I wish I would have found online forums a lot sooner. I meet Mike (Smalltime... RIP) on these forums and he taught me everything I know about reefing and keeping sps. The tank I have now is because of Mike's knowledge. Can't help but wonder what his tank would look like today.
Oh yeah, I still have the 2 pieces of live rock that I started with in my 29 gallon tank. They are so awkward to fit in to the aquascape but I can't get rid of them and I use them in every build I've ever done

Just found a picture of my first tank cycling, its stamped 5/2013. this is right before i broke it down for a 20L tank
I was lucky enough to join here soon after. Have met some great people here and gotten really solid advice for all my systems.
