Whats up reefers! Picked up this WD from a friend, it had lost most of its color, except for some yellow on the polyps. Lets see how this turns out. Any tips on placement would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

bro can't see anything, but mine is at the highest point in the tank, it's kinda green with some pink at the tips. I started it from the middle of the tank and got it to where its at in about 3 weeks and its been there for the past 6 months branching out.

djrice69 I got it from Cali Aquariums, it was in there large frag system which is lit heavily with T5 and LED Combo. All other sps in the
Frag system is colored up really well though. Im already starting to see some color on the flesh after 3 days.

momo I know the picture sucks, Ill try and bust out the camera tonight. Thanks for the placement tip.

Its tricky. It need a lot of like (mine around 600 par) but you will need time to bring it into that par. If the coral doesnt happy, and We bring it up too fast, its bleach.
On the other hand, too low light, its green.

What I notice with my WD is that it gets green/yellow at 250 par with sbox led and kessils, but if you can get it green then your on the right track and slowly raise it to gets yellows and pink at 450+ when peaked. I ramp up my lights with kinda low nutrients at least .02ppm of no3 perhaps play with your nutrients and about .06-.08 po4.

Also on that note I was able to test Mr. V water and his PO4 was about .03ppm with zero no3. But his WD was more purple tip and orange/yellow polyps in coloration, but he is also using redsea trace colors and supplemented t5ho with radions.

So my next question for you is what lights are you running?

I also forgot to mention, that after reading @Mr. V tank thread, I also stArted dosing the Red Sea trace program. You have to replicate successful sps tank owners if you want to be one right? Lol

You picked a good sps tank to replicate, for sure.

I'm blasting mine with light and flow. It's really been coming to life lately. Still a frag so I'm happy with the colors I see in it so far.

I've noticed with nitrates over 10 it had deep color but much more green. As I brought my nitrates down to 5 it's gotten more pink purple and yellow.

Smite my weak spot is testing, I just make sure my CA, Alk, Mg dosing containers are full, and when I do test, its almost always consisten with my previous results. I rarely test for nitrates, but when I do its typicaly in the 3-5 range. I also came to realize, after recently getting back from a 3 week vacation, that maybe just maybe I was keeping my tank to clean, because I noticed a considerable
Amount of growth and color from most of my coral, if it hadnt been for my skimmer over flowing into my sump, it would have looked amazing when I got back lol.
