Wow can't believe it's been 2 years.

Anyways I still have my AIO sitting in the garage along with just about everything else needed to get it up except for a stand. Was gonna have that custom built but the builder dropped out of the deal. I do have one coming in today. :whoo:

Got a new return pump and some plumbing for that and filter media coming in. Gonna try making my own caddy's out of acrylic to hold the filter media behind the overflows. Got another bag of 20lb sand for total of 60lbs just incase. Got the dry live rock churning in a trash bin to get all the dried up salt off. Wish I could get some more time into this this weekend but heading to vegas.

Here's the tank from a previous thread.

The stand came in and I got it assembled last night. It's a metal one so has no top shelf. Would 1/2" plywood be enough or 3/4" to be on the safe side. It's only about 30g for the display area.

Also, does anyone know where I can get some foam padding for cheap? Something big enough on amazon is like $20, which I feel is overpriced. Or maybe I'm just searching for the wrong things.

Ok got a few things done this week to get this setup going. The tank is ready for water but getting held back by the stand. Finally got the wood cut down to size for the top, a middle shelf, back panel and the riser. The riser will raise the stand and tank about 8" for a final stand height of 38". Front and side panels will come later once I decide what kind of finishing I'll go with. The inside back panel has been painted white and hopefully will be screwed onto the stand tonight after painting the backside black and applying some clear coat.

Dude! Clean your garage. I use to get free rugs off of CL and keep them in my garage until one of my dogs went blind and deaf and wouldn't bother leaving garage to piss and poop.
An idea about the feet of the stand. If you have spade bits. Maybe drill just about the depth of them before it starts the angle. 1/4" or less to sort of lock it to the stand.

Are you going to wrap the stand?
I found it hard to wrap my Brooklyn stand due to the screws and leg risers.

Lol yea sorry about the mess. Had a lot of boxes taken out to get to my tools and painting supplies. Got it cleaned up yesterday and was finally able to park my car back inside.

Not too sure what you mean about the spade bits. I just drilled pilot holes for the beams and nailed the top on. Seems more than stable for about 300lbs.

Yes, but a little later. I'll probably skin the sides with 1/2" plywood and the front 1/4". They'll be held on with magnets. For the side panels I'm thinking of routing out some holes in the plywood for the screws so they'll sit flush against the stand. Not sure what I'll cover the panels with right now. That's a whole project for another day as I'm struggling just to get the basics finished so I can get water in it. My plan was to get to that point but failed.

Like the picture below. Place stand on riser box you made. Draw a circle around leveling feet. Then use apropiate size bit to drill into top just about a 1/4" deep to keep stand from possibly shifting on box. Countersink the feet into the top.

Aw I get what you're saying now. That's actually not a bad idea cause the feet do seem to slide quite easily with the paint and clear coating. I was hoping the weight of everything will make it stay better. I'll see.
