Anyone keeping salinity at 1.027-1.028 how does your sticks and or other corals do? I know red Sea is a lot higher. Also do you maintain your alk higher with higher salinity?
I read about this in an article from the other forum. I take it you have to be more careful with the type of salt you use since most salts have alk, cal, and mag levels optimized for SPG of 1.026 or even less? Also which salt are you using?
I think its hard to shoot that high. We can test a lot of basics at home and other stuff with Triton, but you may be raising other stuff too much. Salinity is all the elements added up.
As temperature increases, the space between water molecules increasesalso known as density, which therefore decreases. If the temperature of water decreases its density increases, but only to a point. ... Evaporation increases salinity and density while the addition of freshwater decreases salinity and density.
