    Default Anyone keeping 1.027-1.028...

Anyone keeping salinity at 1.027-1.028 how does your sticks and or other corals do? I know red Sea is a lot higher. Also do you maintain your alk higher with higher salinity?

I read about this in an article from the other forum. I take it you have to be more careful with the type of salt you use since most salts have alk, cal, and mag levels optimized for SPG of 1.026 or even less? Also which salt are you using?

I think it’s hard to shoot that high. We can test a lot of basics at home and other stuff with Triton, but you may be raising other stuff too much. Salinity is all the elements added up.

I have been having ridiculous salinity issues the last year. First it was dropping unexplained, now its been going up unexplained.

Last time i did a water change, it shot to about 1.27. Some stuff in my tank was pissed, but my softies didn't care.

Doesn't temperature play a roll with salinity? I assume you guys are measuring at the same temp each time
