Hello all!
I just purchased a 11 gallon rimless tank. It came with metric units: 45 by 29 by 34 cm; which convert to 17.7 by 11.4 by 13.4 in. I am thinking of using a 1-2 inch sand bed. I have a spare dual bulb t5ho fixture laying around and was wondering if two ati blue plus bulbs on a stand 4-5 inches above the tank would be sufficient lighting for sps coral. Would i need specified coral placement? If this doesn't work, any suggestions? thanks :D

I considered other those lighting options; my main concern is being unable to use the equipment when i upgrade.

Use the kessil 360we. You can probably go as Much as 40 gal. and when you upgrade all you would probably to do is buy a second one

The heat wouldn't be much of an issue since I use the fixture before in a similar setup; my biggest concern is whether 2 24in ati blus plus bulbs would be enough to grow sps for this tank.

It should be plenty of light especially for a slightly shallow tank. Run ati blue plus and coral plus. Maybe add a smaller reef brite strip to add some shimmer and pop.

I saw somewhere that the blue plus offers the most par; Is the coral plus really white?

I have a Kessil 160 on a 29 biocube. The corals and maxima clam are very happy. I have sps and softies. Great growth.
